How can I
prepare for the delivery & installation? Due to the size and
weight of your new cooker, it is essential that it can be conveyed into your
home in a safe and effective manner. It is always best to try and plan an
unobstructed and clear route into the area in which the cooker will
eventually be installed. For safety’s sake, we
would always recommend that small children and pets are excluded from the
immediate delivery and installation areas. What can I
expect from the delivery crew? Dependant upon your
supplier, the delivery crew may unpack and assemble the cooker and place it
in your selected position; they may also disconnect and remove your old
appliance but beware, this is the exception rather than the rule. It is always worth
asking the supplier exactly what the delivery includes. What if I
ask the delivery crew to leave the cooker in a different room? If the delivery crew
are requested to leave the cooker boxed, or in another room, the installing
engineer may need physical assistance from a third party to move and assemble
it. It is unlikely that the installing engineer will be able to relocate the
cooker to another room on his own. Will the
installers make any necessary modifications to gas and electrical supplies? The majority of
suppliers will only connect to gas and electric supplies that are
pre-prepared and fully operational in a pre-cleared area. Some companies may
undertake additional gas and electrical work but this usually incurs an extra
charge payable directly to the engineer, at the time of installation. We are pleased to
advise that The BIG COOKER Repair Company is
happy to modify gas pipework (Natural or LPG), or electrical supplies, to
suit the majority of installation requirements at competitive rates. Are there
any requirements for the installation area itself? The installation
location should be as level as possible to allow access for engineers’ jacks,
used when moving or levelling large cookers. Please be aware that many of today’s floor coverings
are easily damaged. The BIG COOKER Repair Company’s engineers
will check the area and warn you of any potential risks to floor coverings or
cabinets. If a potential problem is found, they will only proceed after
advising you of the risk. Do I need
to be at home during the installation? If you are unlikely to
be at home when the cooker is installed and electrical and gas shut-off
points are not readily visible, please ensure that someone is available who
knows where the appropriate meters, taps and switches are located in the
house. On a point of safety,
it is always best if someone is at home during the entire installation in
case an accident occurs or there is an unforeseen difficulty. |
